Switched things up a bit this year and did our annual gift exchange white elephant style! There was definitely a bit of rivalry in the room, but everyone went home with something they like! Participants also painted wooden dreidels in honor of Hanukkah and engaged in canvas painting. Check out some of our talented members’ finished products! Wishing everyone the best of luck on finals – finish strong!
SJICR Holiday Kickoff Fair
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the SJICR Holiday Kickoff Fair! It was great to learn about the array of holidays celebrated throughout the month of December. Hillel presented on Hanukkah! Advisor Marc Fleischner started us off by sharing some of the holiday’s history. President Alex Herschman continued by enlightening everyone on how to light the menorah and sharing some of her family’s Hanukkah traditions. Senator Evan Grollman ended us off by explaining how to play dreidel – an all time favorite! Wishing everyone a happy 4th night of Hanukkah!
Hannukah Bash & Toy Drive
Celebrated the third night of Hanukkah with our Hillel family in partnership with Chabad! DIY dreidel painting, free giveaways, a photo booth, latke eating contest, and more were featured. The highlight of tonight’s event was lighting the candles together on the big menorah outside of the Student Center! Wishing a very Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate!
Campus Cleanup
Another morning spent helping our community! Today, members of Hillel volunteered to participate in Rowan’s campus cleanup. Look at all the trash we collected! We hope to take part again next year.
Friendsgiving
Nothing beats a Friendsgiving with our Hillel family! After going around the table to say what we are thankful for, everyone enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast meal and some hot chocolate to cure the cold. All participants also engaged in various rounds of Game of Things, one of our all-time favorite games, and this time in person! To top off the night, ’22 E-Board election results were announced. Congratulations to our new E-Board!
Service Project with Circle K
We always love helping our local community. Kudos to everyone who came out to participate in our service project with Circle K! Great teamwork making blankets for the homeless.
Mental Health Awareness Night
A huge shoutout to to our Event Organizer, Kaela Milich for leading an awesome Mental Health Awareness Night! Another thank you to SJICR Director, Roxie Patton for being our keynote speaker. Your story was inspiring to all of us. The strategies and resources you shared will also be of great use to everyone moving forward. We ended the night with some mindfulness activities! All members colored in an inspirational quote related to mental health. Be sure to join us next Friday, November 19th for our Friendsgiving event!
Hillel-o-ween
Thank you to everyone who came out for a SPOOKTACULAR night! After a competitive game of Jeopardy led by our Senator Evan Grollman, all participants engaged in various rounds of What Do You Meme. We loved seeing our members’ costumes and wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween! Don’t forget to support us during our Landmark Fundraiser this upcoming Tuesday, November 2nd, and be sure to look out for details to come on our annual Mental Health Awareness Night taking place on Friday, November 12th!
Rowan United
Another successful Rowan United event in the books! Hillel and the Muslim Student Association (MSA) came together to engage in a meaningful discussion on various topics. In addition to talking about the commonalities between Judaism and Islam, participants discussed the significance and benefits of maintaining strong relationships among faith-based groups on campus. Thank you to everyone who contributed their own insights to make this event a valuable one!
Paint & Sip Night
Our first Paint & Sip Night was a huge hit! All participants expressed their creativity and de-stressed through canvas painting while sipping on drinks and enjoying some pizza. Be sure to join us for our next event taking place on Friday, October 15th – Rowan United!
